Are you someone who wants to try out the newest Windows 11 features months before they are officially released? The Windows Insider Program is a platform run by Microsoft that allows users to test the beta and pre-release versions of Windows 11. This program gives you a chance to work directly with Microsoft developers to help improve the OS.
This is a public software testing program. Before a feature is released to the general public (the Stable Version), it is tested through different stages of the Insider Program for several months.
- First Access: You get the newest UI changes, AI features, and security updates for Windows 11 before anyone else.
- Impactful Feedback: The feedback you provide (via the Feedback Hub) directly helps Microsoft make improvements to the final product.
The Insider Program has three main Channels. They differ based on the stability and newness of the updates you receive:

If you have decided to join the Beta Channel (which is the safest), follow these easy steps:

Go to Settings
Open Settings in Windows 11 (or press Windows Key + I).

Navigate to Update Section
Click on Windows Update in the left panel.

Select Insider Program
Click on the Windows Insider Program option in the right panel.

Link Microsoft Account
Click the Get started button. You will need to link your Microsoft Account (the one you use to sign in to Windows).

Choose Your Channel
When prompted to choose a channel, select the Beta Channel (if you are on your main PC), and then click **Continue**.

Confirm and Restart
Accept the terms and conditions. Your PC will then ask to Restart. After the restart, you will be part of the Insider Program and will start receiving updates for your chosen channel soon.
💡 Security Tip:
Before joining any Insider channel, always back up your important files. A backup will protect you from data loss if a severe bug occurs in the pre-release software.
While you don't need a specific download link to join the Insider Program (it's done through Settings), you will need the official Media Creation Tool to download clean ISO files if you ever want to perform a clean installation or use the TPM bypass method mentioned in our other guides.
